Our goal is to create a pipeline of African girls who grow into the next generation of women leading change in their communities and the world.
The Power Girls Africa was established in 2019 as a six-week leadership program focused on training girls ages 16-18 in leadership, social impact, strengths and career mapping, financial management, and mental health care to name a few. For three years, 30+ girls have graduated from the program and continue to receive individualized coaching and mentorship needed to achieve their highest potential. In 2023, the program scaled to Girl in Bloom.
Girl in Bloom strives to enrich, empower and embolden the next generation of female African leaders through leadership development, social impact training and community building. We do this through four key initiatives:
A leadership training program that supports girls in identifying and implementing social impact projects that address social challenges within their communities.
An annual one-day leadership conference that develops African girls between the ages of 15-18 by connecting them to resources, thought-leaders, peers and mentors.
Girls in Books is a global reading community that engages with and amplifies the works of African and Diasporan authors.
An intensive mentorship and leadership initiative for African and Diasporan girls between the ages of 15-18.
